You have so much to celebrate when your tiny baby reaches his or her first birthday. You have made it a whole year, learning and growing right along with your precious baby. They have gone from coos to first words, and you have gone from baby novice to pro. Take advantage of one of our favorite sessions, the Smash and Splash First Birthday session.
This session has two parts, it starts with a quick milestone session to capture all of your baby's new tricks. If we have done previous milestone sessions together, it can be styled with a similar theme. The next portion is styled to match any theme you would like. We can decorate as much or as little as you prefer. Many families choose to use the first birthday theme, or nursery colors. We sit your baby down and take a few images in the birthday set up. Then comes the cake, and the mess, and fun! We let baby go to town on their special treat, making sure to capture all those messy details. Lastly, the session ends with a quick wash in our baby-sized bathtub. Most babies love splashing in the warm water, and it makes for some very cute images to add to their gallery.
If your baby does not eat cake, we have had other smashes, such as watermelon, donut, or even a painting session. The possibilities are endless!
These sessions take a little planning, so schedule early, especially if you would like to have your final artwork completed for their birthday party. It is very common to do these sessions at 11 months, although many take place after they have already had their birthday.
